About the role
Support yam pollen research through field monitoring, pollen collection, and sample management. Maintain accurate records and ensure sample traceability.
What you’ll do
• Monitor yam fields and crossing blocks for flowering. • Identify male plants and flowers for pollen collection. • Collect mature anthers/pollen at appropriate times. • Label and transport samples to laboratory. • Maintain daily records of flowering and pollen availability.
What you’ll bring
• National Diploma in Agriculture or related field. • Minimum two years relevant experience. • Strong attention to detail and record-keeping. • Ability to follow SOPs and handle biological samples. • Basic computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel.
