About the role
The L1 SOC Analyst monitors security alerts in a Microsoft environment and triages incidents using Microsoft Sentinel and Defender XDR. This entry-level role involves following runbooks and escalating issues as needed while supporting compliance requirements.
What you’ll do
• Monitor and triage incidents in Microsoft Sentinel and Defender XDR. • Decide alert validity and document findings. • Review email quarantine and handle phishing reports. • Run KQL queries to identify affected systems. • Apply containment actions and escalate when necessary.
What you’ll bring
• 1+ year in IT support or security operations. • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and cloud/hybrid environments. • Networking and mail flow fundamentals. • Windows and macOS system basics. • Understanding of common attack techniques.
