About the role
Lead a technical team focused on building and maintaining Gitaly, GitLab's Git data storage tier. Manage complex projects to improve scalability, performance, and maintainability of Git storage infrastructure.
What you’ll do
• Manage senior and staff engineers on Gitaly projects. • Build culture of technical rigor and ownership. • Drive execution on long-horizon technical work. • Support engineers' growth and career development. • Foster strong written communication and asynchronous collaboration.
What you’ll bring
• Experience managing engineering teams with direct reports. • Management philosophy focused on engineer agency and ownership. • Ability to guide engineers through ambiguity and technical tradeoffs. • Strong written communication and remote collaboration skills. • Hands-on background in version control or low-level infrastructure.
