Epidemiologist

About the role
The Epidemiologist will manage epidemiological data, conduct outbreak investigations, and support health surveillance and response activities in Kano. They will train medical teams and collaborate with health authorities to monitor disease trends and vaccination efforts.
What you’ll do
• Provide epidemiology training to medical teams. • Manage data systems and prepare reports. • Implement health assessments and surveys. • Maintain surveillance systems for outbreak diseases. • Supervise and train data and surveillance staff.
What you’ll bring
• Medical doctor, nurse or biomedical scientist with epidemiology postgraduate degree. • Minimum 2 years field epidemiology experience. • Knowledge of Nigerian surveillance systems (IDSR, SORMAS, DHIS2). • Experience with vaccine-preventable disease outbreaks preferred. • Proficiency in Excel and statistical software (R preferred).
